In 1994 I started Douglas White Effects with my wife and partner Cheryl, where we have
worked on Commercials, Films, Television, Music Videos, like: "Crash Bandicoot" for Sony
& Viviendi, "Honda's" Rover, "Sprint" Panda Santa, "Snickers" Barky Dog, "Pepsi"
Goose, "Mountain Dew's" Cheetahs, "Milk Does a Body Good" Cows, "Oreo's " Cows and
"Nike's" Fun Police.
I started this business learning Character Make-up and Effects, this branched out into
Prop making, Physical Effects, Puppetry, Robotics, Remote Control, making Character Costumes, Wigs & Hairpieces and being a Animal Colorist.
I began my career in 1972, working on the film "Lemora a Child's Tale of the Supernatural"
assisting Byrd Holland. I worked with Byrd on and off for the next 6 years. In December of 1973 Byrd introduced me to Joe Blasco, and I assisted him on "Ilsa, Shewolf of the SS".
In 1978 I met Tom Burman, Ellis Burman and Stan Winston and worked for Tom on
John Frankenheimer's "Prophecy". In July of 1979 I started a Company with two other
people, and was Dept. Head, for our company, on films like: "Evilspeak", "The Alchemist",
"Friday The 13th Part 3", "Parasite", "The Sword and The Sorcerer", "Metalstorm",
"The Fisher King", "True Lies", "Icelandic Saga's" and "Candyman 2".
